TIPS ON STARTING A MODELING CAREER

There are three things you need to consider while preparing to become a professional model.

1. Find an Agency(s).
Without a legitimate agency, contacting and negotiating with clients maybe difficult and sometimes physically dangerous. You can find modeling agencies from our database or your local yellow pages.

Please be aware when you are meeting with new agencies. Legitimate agencies do not ask for a fee to submit pictures or take down information, sometimes referred to as "filing fee". Organizations like these are unfortunately SCAMS.

2. Look for Professional Photographers.
You will be required to have photos for agencies and clients. They usually don't accept pictures from automatic snapshot cameras. Seek for professional photographers specialized in Model Portfolios. Otherwise check your local portrait studios. They'll usually shoot head shots for models and actors. Please visit www.PhotographerUSA.com to search for photographers in your area.

3. Promote Yourself.
Advertising yourself is the last thing you should do after finding an agency(s) and preparing your portfolio. There are several ways to promote yourself such as creating a web site, participating in competitions, or sending out your composition cards to commercial photographers, movie directors, graphic designers, etc.

ModelUSA.com has pioneered to provide individual web sites for models (actors) and agencies since 1998.
Our goal is to create a dynamic search engine where all participating models, actors, agencies, combined, will make one powerful database. Be a member of ModelUSA.com today. It's simple, affordable, and invaluable. For more information, please read Information for ScoutMe.
